They were happily married for 1 year, and then after watching his wife pregnant for 9 month they were blessed with a baby daughter Carol Ann Bruce, born 13/07/1949 Carol was first grandchild to John's parents and 2nd grandchild to Margaret's mum and step-dad. Carol brought happiness to both her parents, and they stayed in a single end at Arthurs seat.It would not be long before Margaret had her second daughter just thirteen month between both girls.
