John and Margaret were only apart when he was at work, when he was home, they both would be in the garden keeping it tidy and sitting out in the summer.The children were all growing fast and once Carol and Margaret were old enough to be left babysitting it was lovely that Margaret liked to go out with John for quality time together, they would visit Millers Bowling club at the weekend, and even played bowls themselves, as part of a team.They also spent the evening at the Brittish Legion, many good nights they had and met alot of friends.Every Sunday during the day they would take all us kids to the park at granny's and play rounders while Granny and Margaret went back up to Portobello Road to make dinner, great fun had by all even Elizabeth who was now about 3.
